Promises for Relationship Needs

The Lord heals a broken heart

The Lord heals my broken heart. You heal my brokenness and you bind my wounds. “The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed” (Ps. 34:18, NLT; 147:3; Isa. 30:26; 58:12).

The Lord puts a new song in my mouth. I will praise the Lord with a new song. The Lord comforts the brokenhearted (Ps. 40:3; 69:30; Isa. 61:1).

 Break a Negative Legacy

God’s promises to the fatherless

Today, more than ever, there are many fatherless children as well as adults. Some may be living with their fathers but lacking a father’s love and sincere affection. Some experience abuse instead of care from a father. Father God is merciful, and His hands are always wide open to receive His children. Believe His promises and live in peace knowing that He’s anxious to receive you as His child.

I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the LORD almighty.

                                                                                                            —2  Corinthans 6:18

Believe this promise. Whether you had a good father or not, your heavenly Father has promised to care and provide for you all the days of your life (Ps. 10:14). Father God is the helper to the fatherless.

God’s mercy will never forsake me. My heavenly Father knows my needs and will supply them. “(For the LORD your God is a merciful God), He will not forsake you nor destroy you, nor will He forget the covenant of your fathers, which He swore to them” (Deut. 4:31; Matt. 6:32).

Promises to the wife of an unbelieving husband

Many couples have divorced, leaving behind the treasures of God’s promises, for lack of knowledge and understanding to live in obedience and love deeply and sincerely.  Some have had legitimate reasons for divorce, but most marriages can overcome the attacks of the enemy if both spouses make a decision to draw near to God. If you find yourself in need of divine intervention, keep trusting God while you continue confessing His promises.

I will trust the Lord for my husband’s salvation, as I stand believing that I will not become a victim of bondage. I will continue praying for my spouse. I will be an example of God’s love. I will allow God to redeem me and restore what the enemy has stolen (Ps. 26:11; 1 Cor. 7:13-16; 1 Pet. 3:1-2).

Promises to the husband of an unbelieving or wayward wife

I will trust the Lord for my wife’s salvation and restoration. I will be an example of God’s unconditional love. I will speak blessings and will keep my heart from sinning (1 Chron. 29:19; 1 Cor. 7:10-16).

Promises for abandonment

The Lord will never forsake me. “When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take care of me” (Ps. 27:10; Heb. 13:5).

The Lord does not forsake those who seek Him. He will not see the righteous forsaken (Ps. 9:10; 37:25).

Promises for a healthy marriage

If you’re going through a difficult time in your marriage, claim these promises and believe that God will restore whatever the enemy has stolen.

Marriage is a promise of deep affection and a lawful and honorable covenant. When Father God is head of our home, there is mutual happiness and a constant source of satisfaction and support.  Marriage carries a blessing from God (Ruth 4:11; Ps. 138:2; Prov. 5:10; 6:3; Eccles. 4:9-10; 1 Tim. 5:14; Heb. 13:4).

I have the promise of one heart, one flesh and one way in marriage “I will behave wisely in a perfect way…I will walk within my house with a perfect heart…He who works deceit shall not dwell within my house; he who tells lies shall not continue in my presence” (Ps. 101:2,7).

Together as one, my spouse and I can prevail against the enemy (Gen. 1:27; 1 Pet. 3:7). “I will give them one heart and one way…for the good of them and their children after them” (Jer. 32:39). “And they shall become one flesh” (Gen. 2:24).

  1. Hi Dr. Iris, I first would like to thank you for being obedient to help the body of Christ to grow and be victorious. I have your book Satan you Can’t have my Miracle, it is a blessing.

I noticed that you have posted several prayers on your site. I was wondering if you could post a prayer for singles that are trusting God for marriage. I’m single and this has been my hearts desire for many years.

    Thanks,
