Demonic Influence

Demonic InfluenceAs long as we live we will be in a spiritual battlefield and we better stay on guard and be vigilant. Many people may think this kind of teaching is way off, but unfortunately, too many people are defeated because of demonic influence in their lives.

Isaiah says that “Perfect peace comes to those whose mind is stayed (focused) on the things of God.” The word ‘peace’ also means happiness, favor, rest, health and financial prosperity. To allow your mind to be focused on God is living a prosperious and peaceful life. The opposite is to experience torment and death. Demonic spirits will not stop until they are in control.

The more we are influenced by the Holy Spirit, the more effective we can be in ministry to our family and to others. Before I can be a blessing, I have to be blessed.

2 Timothy 6:12 “Fight the good fight of faith; lay hold on eternal life to which you were summoned and (for which) you confessed the good confession (of faith) before may witnesses.”

FIGHT the good fight of faith.

Fighting denotes strenuous activity.Yes, we are in a wrfare, but our adversary, the devil, is limited in weaponry and power, and we are not. We must discern evil spirits and cast them out of our lives. In Ephesians 6:11, we are told to put on the whole rmor of God. It is clear that there is a warfare going on and demons are actively at work looking for someone to devour.

In counseling, I have met many people tormented by demons. Every time we give the enemy permission to enter our soul, we become weaker and unable to withstand the battle. We give the enemy permission to control us when we disobey God’s commandments. When a person willfully falls into temptation and obeys the voice of the enemy, the door is opened for the enemy to influence, defeat, harass, and strip the person of all dignity, peace, stability and commitment. Such a person is never content and never fulfilled.

On the other hand, there are some Christians who love God with all their heart but find themselves mentally tormented. Much of this has to do with harassing spirits that have never been ordered to leave. We must use the keys of binding and loosing and order all demonic influence out of our lives. You do this by binding the demonic spirit in the name of Jesus, casting it out and loosing the peace of God to take it’s place.

The other problem I see is that too many Christians are only victorious on Sunday morning. The rest of the week they are worried, stressed out, harassed, depressed, and many are just totally worn out. Demons of depression are showing up everywhere. If you truly are a Christian, and you find yourself in such a situation, please make an inventory of your spiritual life.

If you’re weak in your prayer life and thanksgiving is not part of your daily lifestyle, then drastic change is necessary. These two things are greatly necessary for a Christian to have victory over demonic influence.

Begin today to make some changes. Take time out to nourish your spiritual man. This habit will become more important than feeding your physical body. Believe me, I see and hear too many Christians falling apart because they are not properly connected to the source, Jesus Christ!
